Discover Oak Cottage, the largest of our three charming cottages perfect for your family getaway. With bold decor designed to catch your eye and just a couple of small internal steps, it’s ideal for everyone in your family. Offering three bedrooms – one double, one single, and a bunk bed room accommodating up to 5 guests, with space for travel cots for your tiniest travellers too.

The open-plan living area invites family get-togethers, complete with books, puzzles, and games for all ages to enjoy. The well-equipped kitchen ensures your stay is self-contained and memorable.

After a busy day, let the kids indulge in screen time with our Nintendo mini-game console featuring over 20 nostalgic games the whole family will love, and you can unwind in front of the cosy log burner in the lounge, with a wall-mounted smart TV and DVD player. Plus, enjoy seamless streaming for everyone with free Starlink wifi!

Relaxation continues in the skylight bathroom, boasting a full-sized bath and a refreshing rainfall shower for a truly rejuvenating stay. Oak Cottage promises a memorable retreat for the whole family.

Oak Cottage is nestled in a picturesque courtyard on the edge of a stunning smallholding. Step outside to your secure, fenced patio area, complete with a BBQ, seating arrangement, and your very own hot tub! From here, you have direct access to a charming communal grassed garden and play area, offering a perfect space for children to play together. There’s also a communal undercover seating area, adorned with fairy lights, Sonos speaker, TV and DVD player. This is where you will find the communal wood-fired pizza oven—ideal for gathering and making unforgettable memories.

The 12 acres of land provide the perfect escape from the ordinary, inviting you to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of expansive grounds, trails, a play area, and friendly farm animals—all stretching down to the serene River Tamar. We welcome you to explore, embark on adventures, relax, and unwind in this idyllic setting.

For those eager to embrace water activities, Oak Cottage offers your ideal escape—from fishing in the river to relaxing in the hot tub. Alternatively, enjoy our delightfully baby-friendly 5-meter outdoor pool, open from April to the end of September. Maintained at a comfortable 28-32 degrees, the pool features walk-in steps and a 1.1-meter depth, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. A fully-equipped changing room with toys and floats guarantees carefree, joyful moments for the whole family. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered to make your family holiday nothing short of fantastic, giving you complete peace of mind throughout your stay.

Should you find the time, our location on the border of Devon and Cornwall offers easy exploration of both counties and their captivating coastlines with loads of dog friendly beaches, ensuring your holiday is filled with endless possibilities for discovery and relaxation.

Hot Tubs and Swimming Pool

New for 2024 – Experience Luxury with your private Hot Tub in a Secluded Outdoor Area! Unwind and rejuvenate as you soak in the serene atmospheres, stargaze or just let the soothing warmth melt away your stress, creating unforgettable moments of peace and relaxation. The ultimate relaxation and escape from the everyday!

From the 1st April to the end of September, all guests can enjoy the shared use of our 5-meter heated outdoor swimming pool. The decked area beside the pool is the perfect spot to relax and take in the views of our beautiful gardens.

Fishing and Paddle Boarding

Guests have the unique opportunity to fish along 400 yards of the River Tamar, right at the end of Wild Wanderers, where Devon meets Cornwall! With fishing rights along the riverbank, you might catch Grayling, Roach, Trout, or even Salmon when they venture back from spawn! Where the river runs shallow, the younger ones can also use nets to scoop up the Garra rufa (the small fish that nibble feet!)

Feeling adventurous? When the river runs high, it’s the perfect spot to test your paddleboarding skills or take a refreshing swim, if you’re feeling brave!

Wild Wanderers Natural Environment

At the bottom of the courtyard, a classic 5-bar Devon gate invites you into our little slice of paradise. Wander through to discover an orchard, a fun children’s play area with swings, trampoline and play tower. You’ll find the sheep and lambs, goats and, the chicken and duck enclosures, plus our cheeky Peppa pig. There’s plenty of stopping points too, perfect for kicking back and soaking in the peaceful, natural beauty of rural Devon & Cornwall.

Keep exploring down, and you’ll find yourself in the wild, untouched River Tamar meadows. We’ve left these meadows in their natural glory, complete with a flowing river, rope swings, a pond, and a magical fairy trail just waiting for adventure. With a bit of luck (and patience!), you might catch sight of deer wandering through, birds of prey soaring high, kingfishers darting across the water, or otters playfully splashing around. It’s a nature-lover’s dream, full of magic and tranquillity! It’s your holiday—you decide your own adventure!
